A Quick & Healthy Holiday Appetizer

Books & Bites

Eat. Drink. and be Merry (cross out merry for reader...how to )
You may not know that I'd an avid reader. I love a good book curled up next to the fireplace or on a lounge chair in the sunshine.
To add to my book collection without breaking the bank, I host a book exchange holiday party for friends & neighbors.
A book exchange is perfect for those that want to expand their literary horizons, discover new authors or share in the holidays with fellow book lovers.
The premise behind a book swap is somewhat simple. Guests bring books from their collection to share and then the books are given to new owners. It’s an easy and inexpensive way to freshen up your bookshelf.
My first book exchange holiday party was a huge hit!! In addition to swapping books there's always the joy of trying new recipes on my guests. This year, my task was to create an appetizer for both the plant-based & meat-eater alike.
This antipasto Christmas wreath is the perfect crowd pleaser! Herbivores & omnivores alike will devour this simple appetizer.
Festive Antipasto Skewers Christmas Wreath is an amazing holiday appetizer.
Made with peppered salami, mozzarella balls, olives, cherry peppers, artichokes, and fresh basil. An easy and healthy appetizer that’s perfect for the holidays.

Christmas Wreath Antipasto Skewers
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ingredients
30 wood skewers (3-4″ long skewers)
30 baby mozzarella balls
30 basil leaves
10–15 cherry tomatoes
30 slices peppered salami (or regular salami)
10 whole artichoke hearts, halved
20 large green olives, pitted (you can get flavored if you’d like)
30 large black olive or large kalamata olives
10 cherry peppers, halved
fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Line up all your ingredients so you’re ready to assemble antipasto skewers.
.
To each skewer add mozzarella ball, basil leaf, and salami. From there I mixed and matched the rest of the ingredients!
🎄 Hint: have fun with this. I made each of my skewers different.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Get a round serving platter and place assembled skewers in the shape of a wreath. Depending on the size of your platter you may need to do a double layer of skewers. Then stick pieces of fresh rosemary in random places underneath the skewers to make it look like a Christmas wreath.
